The waterfront at sunset
The coast faces southwest, so the sun sets over the water to the right of the city front, and the hour before it goes is when the waterfront earns its reputation.
The Barceloneta promenade
The tower and the hotel at the end of the beach give the horizon a shape. Shoot back along the sand for the curve of the shore, or out to sea for the sun itself going down behind the shipping.
The Bogatell breakwater
A long stone arm reaching into the sea with nothing built on it. Walk to the end and you have water on three sides, which is rare in a city of two million people.
Port Vell from Moll de la Fusta
The old harbour with masts, the cable car tower and Montjuïc stacked behind it. Blue hour, about ten minutes after sunset, is when this one peaks.
